Why choose Whey Upkot for student accommodation?
Whey Upkot is a modern building situated close to UZ Gent. Inspired by the name of the street on which the building stands – Melkerijstraat – our look & feel team has transformed the building into one big ‘Milky Way’. Just imagine your very own space shuttle at the entrance to the building. Curious? Feel free to pop in on one of our open days. The building is also cosily furnished, thanks to a lovely courtyard garden and a few sunny terraces.
Whey Upkot features cosy kitchens and chill-out rooms on every floor. The building also has a secure bicycle storage area and even a green garden in the courtyard. And to top it all off, some of the kitchens also have spacious, sunny terraces.
Yes, Whey Upkot has its own study room or study café where you can study with your friends and/or flatmates or organise group work.

Whey Upkot is just an 11-minute bike ride from Gent-Sint-Pieters station. A few minutes’ walk away, you’ll find several bus stops where you can catch a bus to the station or the centre of Ghent.
The Upkot Coach is responsible for the social activities organised in the building. Many public holidays are celebrated at Upkot, for example. Think of: a lovely Christmas market, a visit from Sinterklaas, a welcome drink with all the students, etc. In addition, the coach also organises smaller, fun activities for the students throughout the year. Feel free to plan your own activities or organise something fun with your flatmates.
