Hi there! I’m Litze, coach of the best-located student home in Ghent. Right in the student district with a supermarket next door, Basic-Fit under the building, cafés around the corner and close to UGent and Artevelde University of Applied Sciences. And inside? A community of 105 students with nothing but good vibes.

Why choose Backstage Upkot for student accommodation?
Backstage Upkot is in the best location ever, right in the heart of Ghent’s student district, close to a range of restaurants, a supermarket, cosy cafés and even a Basic Fit gym located underneath the building. In short, everything you need as a student is right on your doorstep.
Backstage Upkot has cosy kitchens and relaxation areas on every floor. There is also a secure bicycle storage area, a laundry room and even a cosy garden.
No, Backstage Upkot doesn’t have a study area or, as we call it, a ‘study café’. However, it is within walking distance of several libraries, such as the Boekentoren or the Rozier, where students can study for free. And in the shared kitchens you can study together with other students.

Gent-Sint-Pieters station is just a 10-minute bike ride from Backstage Upkot. You can also take various buses or trams from the Zuid (to the Korenmarkt, for example), which is within walking distance of our Upkot building.
The Upkot coach is responsible for the social activities organised in the building. Many public holidays are celebrated at Upkot, for example. Think of: a fun Christmas market, a visit from Sinterklaas, a welcome drink with all the students, etc. In addition, the coach also organises smaller, fun activities for the students throughout the year. Feel free to plan your own activities or organise something fun with your housemates.
